As the new energy vehicle industry expands rapidly, lightweight aluminum alloy and gigacasting body structures have become mainstream manufacturing technologies. Compared with traditional steel bodies, new energy vehicle bodies feature completely redesigned stress structures, damage mechanisms and repair standards. Conventional sheet metal shaping and welding processes are no longer compliant with current repair specifications.
The automotive aftermarket is facing widespread challenges including slow technical upgrades and a severe shortage of qualified technicians. When repair work is carried out using outdated traditional methods, hidden body damage, degraded structural strength and failed anti-corrosion protection may easily occur. These risks threaten driving safety, reduce residual vehicle value, and fail to meet OEM repair standards as well as insurance “repair instead of replacement” policies.
To fill the industry’s technical gaps and empower collision repair shops to achieve transformation and upgrading, MAXIMA Paint & Body Training Center, an affiliate of Mit Auto Service Co., Ltd., will host three sessions of special training courses on aluminum body and gigacasting body repair in the second half of 2026. The programme aims to cultivate professional technicians capable of standardized lightweight body repair for the industry.
As the vice-chairman unit of China Automobile Maintenance Industry Association and China Automotive Maintenance Equipment Industry Association, Mit Auto operates one of the world’s leading production bases for collision repair equipment, with years of experience in the research and promotion of collision body repair technologies. Built on its profound technical expertise, OEM-grade training hardware and standardised curriculum system, this training adopts an integrated teaching model combining theoretical lectures and hands-on practical training to tackle core repair difficulties of aluminum and gigacast bodies. It covers full-standard workflows including damage assessment, precision alignment and anti-corrosion protection, fully aligned with repair specifications of major vehicle OEMs.
Targeting real frontline repair scenarios, the training helps technical managers and sheet metal technicians break conventional repair mindsets and master full sets of compliant, reliable lightweight body repair technologies. Participating enterprises can cut component replacement costs, improve repair delivery efficiency, seize market opportunities in new-energy collision vehicle repair, and drive the specialised, refined and standardised transformation of the whole sector.
Training Schedule
Session 1: Sep 08 – Sep 10, 2026 Session 2: Nov 24 – Nov 26, 2026 Session 3: Dec 15 – Dec 17, 2026
Venue: MAXIMA Paint & Body Training Center (No.17 Guangzhou Road, Yantai Economic & Technological Development Zone)
Target Participants: Technical managers and sheet metal technicians from 4S dealerships and collision repair enterprises.
Course Overview
This 3-day programme combines classroom theory and hands-on practice.
- Day 1: Theoretical fundamentals, safety protection, material characteristics and damage mechanisms of aluminum bodies. It also introduces aluminum body alignment & shaping, joining techniques, gigacasting repair solutions and official repair specifications.
- Day 2: Practical training including aluminum panel hammering repair, repair machine operation, low-temperature correction, MIG welding and laser welding.
- Day 3: Hands-on exercises of SPR (Self-Piercing Riveting), FDS (Flow Drill Screws), structural bonding and gigacasting body repair. Participants will take assessments at the end of the course. Certificates will be awarded to those who pass the evaluation.
Post time: Sep-28-2026
